One Minute Briefs
OMB (One Minute Briefs) is a daily social media challenge run by the Bank of Creativity in which the community responds to a new advertising brief.

While the aim is primarily to create quick, simple, bold, impactful, and often humorous ideas, I've recently started using OMB to develop my creative thinking and design skills, while remaining in the realm of marketing and keeping on top of design trends. As I'm using OMB in this way, I'm spending considerably more time than one minute on these designs.

Brief: advertise ice lollies

  • Adobe Photoshop
  • Adobe InDesign
  • Adobe Firefly
Design rationale:
  • Sourced McDonalds' core branding assets and colour scheme to advertise a new fictional ice cream - the "McNice"
  • Played on words with the product name "McNice" - suggesting it's both nice and an ice lolly
  • Adapted McDonald's original "I'm lovin' it" slogan to "I'm lickin' it" - echoing their popular strapline but tailoring it to the product
  • Generated placeholder ice lolly using Adobe Firefly (generative image AI)
  • Kept the product front and center, emphasisng it with a translucently designed tongue graphic
